Am I Broken?
Hector Ramirez
Am I broken?
Why do I flip like a token
Am I a broken human being?
When I'm happy I'm treated like a king
But any other feeling makes me a jester or a joke
My right to feel sadness, stress, or anger has been revoked
If I try to use my voice
I've make the wrong choice
What I should've done instead
Is to put those feelings to bed
Anger, frustration, annoyance have no right to be awake
They should be drowned in the deepest part of Crystal Lake
My feelings come and go like ocean waves
At times they've been dark like ocean caves
Though, the sun does shine
On this little heart of mine
No, I'm not a perfect little golden token
But I am also not broken
Why do I flip like a token
Am I a broken human being?
When I'm happy I'm treated like a king
But any other feeling makes me a jester or a joke
My right to feel sadness, stress, or anger has been revoked
If I try to use my voice
I've make the wrong choice
What I should've done instead
Is to put those feelings to bed
Anger, frustration, annoyance have no right to be awake
They should be drowned in the deepest part of Crystal Lake
My feelings come and go like ocean waves
At times they've been dark like ocean caves
Though, the sun does shine
On this little heart of mine
No, I'm not a perfect little golden token
But I am also not broken
