When I was a young girl, at the age of 2, I had always loved the ocean, lakes, and rivers. I had been to many places but I never really called a place home. I had a happy life but sadly at the age of 3, me, my mom and dad were in a car accident. I was the only one who survived, and that is how my story will begin.
Last summer, Aunt Delia took me to her place. I was sitting in the car and looking out the window, I was 10 years old then. I was finally going to have a permanent house to stay in. The house is in South Carolina right next to the beach. Then suddenly I saw something, "Welcome to South Carolina," the sign said. Then I saw a woman and a man driving and talking with the smell of Honeysuckle, they seemed familiar, then I heard a big *CRASH* and woke up, ''AHHH" I said, Aunt Delilah, turned back, "is everything alright Cordelia?" "Yeah, I just thought I saw something," I said nervously.
Aunt Delilah parked in front of her house, I got out of the car, and walked into the house. "why does it feel familiar?" I said to myself. All of a sudden I saw the woman and man again, but instead, the house looked cozier, and they looked like me. "What was happening?" Then I blinked again, and I saw the house, it looked like how it was when I walked in. I walked to the porch and stood, staring at the ocean. I walked down the stairs taking off my shoes, my feet touched the warm soft sand, and I slowly walked toward the ocean step by step. Furthermore, I saw more flashbacks, "is my mind playing tricks on me?" I stood in the water, knee-high. I felt carefree. I wanted to go deeper and swim, but all of a sudden I heard a bark. I turned around, "a dog?" I said
I walked out and followed the dog. What was a dog doing at the beach, I wondered? "Wait up!" I said, chasing after the dog until we reached a cave. It didn't look safe. The dog stopped in front of the entrance. Did it want me to follow her? I walked in cautiously, there were gems everywhere. I walked to the end of the cave, and the dog disappeared! Where was it? That wasn't the problem right now, the question was "where was I?" I asked the cave.
I saw a blue Gem, out of all of the gems, it was glowing the brightest. I reached to grab it but when I touched it I found myself in the ocean. I opened my eyes, "I could breathe!" I exclaimed but to my astonishment, I saw a woman. She stared me straight in the eyes, "Hello, Cora" she said with a heartwarming smile, "Only my mom called me that!" The last thing she said to me before she died was "Goodbye, Cora". "MAMA!", I said, I went to hug her but when I touched her I went through her, "what?" I shouted. "I'm sorry dear Cora, you know I'm dead I'm just a spirit now, I was inside the stone". "You can make a difference dear, you know I'll be with you wherever you go, change the world to be a better place. I believe in you," she said, then she disappeared, and I held on to the stone. " I can do it, I will make you proud, mama". I walked out of the cave, then the gem turned into a necklace with a tiny aquamarine in the middle. "I will never forget, I will make a change just like you wanted mama. I will make you proud", That is what I did little did I know, that was going to change my life forever.
