Blue
Caitlyn Benedek
I dont like the color blue.
The color blue reminds me of you.
The color symbolizes sadness and loneliness its true;
And also vast seas and oceans of it too.
But you drown in oceans, just as you drown despair
I wish you'd cheer up, but you just do not care.
You lay on the floor, your head in your hands;
I try to help, but none of it lands.
Tears split the window, and same with your face
Not even a hug will help, at least in this case.
And in this very moment, is when I knew
That the only thing surrounding you was blue
I wish you could see all the yellow green and pink
Yet the more you scream and frail the further you sink
And the more that I comfort, the more I can see
That there cannot be all that air without sea
There cannot be a yellow without blue,
And there cannot be a me without you
So as happinness drifts in mysterious ways
You must know not to waste your precious days
Rather then sitting in puddles of blue,
Try swimming or splashing or surfboarding too
For there to be good, there has to be bad
And for there to be happy, there has to be sad
So appreciate the good, as well as the not
Becuase life doesnt slow down, and it does not stop
Be lucky to live, be lucky to feel
If everything was good, it just woulnt be real
So lift your head up, and stand up real tall
A tear down your cheek as another one falls
Youre surrounded in blue, but blue that is kind
Serene in its parts, gentle in mind
Water will recycle, and the ocean a new
For it was always just a more beautiful blue.
