Departure
Jaslyn Pina
Lying awake, I cannot escape you.
Every day I think — what should I do?
Apology, apology — you give to me,
Volatile and vindictive, if I don't agree.
Evaluating my next move... I should wait.
Tomorrow I'll be on that flight by eight.
Opening my eyes one by one — are you asleep?
Bless the Lord, I cannot wait to flee.
Every now and then, it got too repetitious.
Free at last — oh my, how delicious.
Removing you to stay true,
Embracing my family,
Embracing my friends — respectfully, screw you.
