Held by Grief’s Grip

Held by Grief's Grip
The weight of grief and loss
is not truly understood until it comes across.
It's like an oppressive quilt enveloping you,
but instead of providing comfort, it chokes.
The weight accumulates ahead,
wrapping around you with a cold clasp,
pulling you in tighter and tighter until the air thickens
and the inhaling effort becomes an infamous battle,
making each breath feel sharp and short...
A sense of suffocation creeps in,
leaving you buried alive under it.
You attempt to escape but cannot, leaving you stranded in the dark.
