Stacey’s Adventure
Inaya Tahir
It is a sunny day and Stacey's Garden is practically shimmering. The flowers are all in bloom and the trees have mouthwatering fruits on them. Stacey is playing with her two little sisters. Stacey and her sister Stella are teaching their youngest sister Sophia how to walk. Sophia has just turned a year old and started walking without her walker "Come on Sophia, you can do it!" Stacey and Stella could not stop shouting words of encouragement. Sophia's little chubby face flushed bright pink from the effort, but she was determined not to let her sisters down.
Soon after Sophia managed to reach the bench! Grinning from ear to ear she climbed on the tan rocking bench and played with her favorite monkey toy which spoke when you pressed its belly.
A few minutes later while gripping her toy she tried to walk back to her sisters, but she wobbled so much she almost fell! Stacey ran to keep her from falling but suddenly she tripped on the pole nail that was supporting the bench! Just seconds later her head hit a super sharp rock!!! Everything happened so fast Stella could hardly feel herself. When Stella found herself, she checked Sophia, and she was okay but when she looked down Stacey was in tears! "Are you okay?" Stella asked nervously. She was not used to comforting her sister when she was in pain, only Stacey would be taking care of her. For a second Stella smiled thinking of the time when she had scraped her knees, how Stacey had run to the house and brought her mom how she had helped clean it and put the Band-Aid on it. It was Stacey's moaning that brought her to the present.
Stacey had butterflies in her tummy. She felt dizzy and all she could see were two very blurry figures who had the same blond hair as her. Stella waited a few seconds for an answer. But when Stacey didn't answer Stella ran inside, then a few seconds later her parents came running outside. Her parents had a frightened expression, but they quickly went to Sophia. They checked her headfirst but instead of blond, it was bright red! It was bleeding! Everyone in Sophia's family had a huge look of concern even little Stacey looked worried. Everyone ran to the car with Sophia. When they got to the hospital they went straight to the R-5 Sophia's doctor.
"Hi," Dr. Finner said, "I was just going to call it a day". "Hello," mom, dad, and Stella replied, "we have an emergency". What's wrong Dr. Finner said, frowning seeing Stacey, he quickly went to the sink and put on a new pair of rubber gloves "Stacey hurt her head really bad" her mom said. "Let me take a look," he said. He peered over Stacey's head and saw the blood rushing down her head. "Oh my!" Dr. Finner exclaimed. Stacey needs stitches! Stacey's family gasped in horror. Little Sophia was already crying, and Stella was near tears. Stacey's parents tried frantically to soothe their children but couldn't help feeling terrified. He said I can do it in a flash, but Stella and Sophia need to wait in the waiting room with mom or dad.
Stacey's parents whispered about it for a few seconds then broke the huddle. "I'll go," dad said to Dr. Finner. When they left, Dr. Finner got the stitches from a drawer then he had Stacey's mom put Stacey on a doctor's bed and then applied the stitches, CLICK!
"Owww!" Stacey moaned as she tried to hide behind mom. "It's okay it's almost over," mom said soothingly. When they were done Dr. Finner gave Stacey three stickers, a dolphin one for her a cat one for Stella, and a monkey one for Sophia then when they were done thanking Dr. Finner they went to the waiting room to pick up dad Stella and Sophia. When they got there Stella and Stacey emerged from a chair and Stacey hugged her little sisters and gave them their stickers. The three sisters put the stickers on each other. "Are you okay?" "How did it go?" Stella was bubbling with questions. Stacey back! Sophia said! "Great job honey," her dad said then they all went home.
"That was scary." Stacey said during the car ride "yes it was" "Mom said" "but as a treat for a job well done before we go home let's go to "Sweet Cream" to get some ice cream!" YEAH! I want Chocolate! vanilla! buttercream! Rocky road! Peanut butter" the family shouted together wildly. This was such an exciting day thought Stacey as she licked her Chocolate ice cream. "It was," Stella said, reading her mind. She leaned against her big sister licking her buttercream ice cream. Everyone was happy, especially Stacey.
