Tales From The Farmyard 1: The Wicked Wolf
Rishi Kamath
Characters: A farmer, his wife, a wolf, 2 farm workers and a female gypsy ghost.
Setting: the farmer's farm, a mysterious magical desert
"We better prepare ourselves for the fall harvest, wife!" said the farmer. Farmer Brown was preparing for fall and he had a great time and all his farm fresh fruits and vegetables and animals were thriving. "Indeed sure!" said the wife. "But what about that wicked wolf in the forest?" "Don't worry about him, there's a lot of meat and food for him out there," said the farmer.
But the farmer was wrong. The wolf was serving a roast duck and a fat goose to his family. "We need plenty of food!" said his wife. "Otherwise we and our little ones will starve for winter!" "Don't worry about that!" said Wolf. "We can go to that defenseless little farm and I'll snatch us 2 fat pigs and 1 plump sheep for our little ones." His wife thought it was splendid.
Later that night wolfie went out and quickly grabbed 2 pigs, a plump sheep as well as a basket of chicken eggs. Then when he brought the food back to his wife she was amazed. "We'll have plenty of food and plenty of eggs for lunch and breakfast tomorrow!" But the farmer was mad when he realized that those pigs and that sheep disappeared!
"I need a plan quickly wife!" he said angrily. She thought and came up with a brilliant plan. She told him to buy 2 farm workers each holding a pitchfork. The farmer bought 2 farm workers while the wife bought some lights. She then told him the plan. "When the wolf comes the lights will spot him then the workers will beat him up!" she said. So they tested out the plan later at night when the wolf came he dodged the lights and destroyed them then scared the farm workers. He took 10 chickens and 20 wheelbarrows with fruits and vegetables.
Though the wolf family were carnivores they still ate the fruits and vegetables and they didn't taste bad. They had more fresh eggs. "When the chickens become plump we can roast them!" he told his wife. She then liked his plan. The farmer had just come up with a new plan.
"We need Security cameras that blast lasers!" he said seriously. "Well that's expensive," said his wife. So they sold tons of fruits and vegetables the following few days and the wolf kept stealing.
They were rich and then bought the security cameras.
Eventually the wolf found out and decided to do something. He told his new evil plan to his family. "I want everyone to find anything gloopy like mud, snowballs, rotten apples or anything else!" he said firmly. The wolf family found many things and the wolf made balls and loaded his cannon. He blasted the cannon at all the security cameras and they were disabled.
He got his grubby hands on 6 turkeys and 3 bags of flour as well as taking a cow for milk. His wife was impressed that even with some nasty business they got more food. As for the farmer he was steaming with anger, fury and rage. "That crazy wolf!" he grumbled. "I'll kill him so badly that he'll learn his lesson and pay for his theft!" He set up all sorts of traps and put wolf cages made of tough material.
The wolf made a plan when he was spying on the farmer to see what he did next. He traveled far to a desert where he found a gypsy. "Would you like me to do some chores for you ma'am?" he said in a kind voice. "Sure!" said the gypsy cheerfully. He did chores for the gypsy for a few days and then the gypsy let him have anything he wanted before he left. He asked for an Invisibility cloak with cutting edge technology. The gypsy created one complete with invincibility against the traps!
He went back to the farm and put his cloak on. He stole 2 horses with saddles, 2 geese as well as tons of other farming creatures and stuff. His wife was astonished when he came back! "We now have plenty of food and our children will be healthy and happy!" she cheered. Unfortunately the farmer was the only person not cheerful; he controlled his anger and sent a note to the wolf.
They met and talked. "I'm sorry I stole all your farm stuff and animals," "That's ok!" the farmer confessed. "If you want a farm I can show you how to get a farm." Wolf learned and now he doesn't rob and has a farm!
