The Eccentric Tale of Maverick Armstrong
Ahmed Kalim
Hi!
Over here!
Look down!
Human!
Don't step over my mansion or else!
Oh yeah manners.
Hi! My name is Maverick Armstrong, but you can just call me Armstong. You're asking why I have a mansion. Well, I'm rich. Well, the King President of Insects gave me all of it. Now you will ask how I got it, Okay. I don't want to answer all those mountain towering questions, so I'll just tell you, my story.
It begins on a sunny day on September 21, 2014. I was 6 years old and that is the age where most ants start their first harvest. My dad told me to collect all the food that I could collect. He told me never to collect lemons and honey. He told me to come back in 3 hours.
I started my journey to collect. The food that my house needed. 30 minutes passed and I found a bee asking everyone something. So, I went to ask her what she was asking. When you are a kid, you are curious. You can't stop yourself from being curious and taking the risk. It was a 3-year-old bee and when I came close, I saw that she was panicking. I asked her and she told me that a bear destroyed their hive, and they lost all their honey. I got straight to helping her forgetting what not to collect.
It got a bit sticky in the beginning, but I learned the trick. 2 hours passed and I collected 5,000 pounds of honey...... You must be wondering what will your family eat and how can you carry that much weight? Well, we split the honey in half and if you do the math, it equals about 250 pounds, I think. I don't know, never mind that. I was born with extremely powerful muscles.
So, I came home carrying all that weight not making a sweat. I came home and quickly remembered what dad said not to do. I saw dad far away. I quickly tried to put it on the rock to make it look like it was a big piece of amber. I stood next to it scared but trying to pretend that I am happy with my work. Dad came next to me and gave a bravo but when dad touched the honey to pull it but stuck to his hand like it was part of the rock. Dad took his other hand and tasted it. He got mad like a big angry lion.
I ran as fast as I could. Dad Quickly pried his hand out and sprinted after me. He caught me and He scolded me very hard and forced me to eat the honey. I took a bite feeling scared and it was yumm, like I am eating food in heaven. So sweet and sticky. I could eat this food for years. I did this for 7 years and collected some food for my family as well to make dad a bit less to do some of my job. Then one very hot day, the President of the bee society gave me a letter in my hand and quietly left. I opened the letter and found out that it was giving me a request to work with the bees for 1 year. I told my parents about this, and they were disagreeing, but they said yes so that I can make friends from another culture
Then I said goodbye to my parents and promised to send them a letter every day. It took 1 hour of traveling time to just get to the hive of the bees. The bees welcomed me like I belonged to them. Some of them groaned and sighed but nothing fails or disturbed the Amazing Armstrong!
I talked to the Emperor of the Bees. He approved the contract, and it was already nightfall, so I went in the sticky bed that just stuck to me like chains on my body. When I woke up, I was surrounded by 5 bees wearing masks and they said something that I could not understand. But they set me free and put a tracker on my back for I don't know why.
Every day, I started picking up the honey at 5:23 am and stopped at 6:29 pm. When I came back, they were awestruck for 5 minutes. Then they just took the honey off my back, and this continued for 364 days. On the last day of my contract, I worked as hard as I could and then suddenly the cops put handcuffs on and put a cloth on my eyes. When the cloth and handcuffs were taken off, the president was there. Behind him were 5 million pounds of gold coins. I was filled with happiness. He gave me a job well done nod and told me that my contract was now over. Then behind was a beautiful bee that I could not resist. Then I realized that I had arrived at a wedding ceremony.
The President said that you did an amazing job finishing your contract and you made many friends that do not look and work like you. You did an amazing job adopting the culture of bees and I know that you and Maya (the bee) like each other, so I want to give you this wedding ceremony as a gift. And of course, we could not resist so we just said yes happily. So, then the weird part. I know what you're thinking of kissing but in the bee and ant culture we only hug and buzz.
So, this is my story human, and now I live happily with my wife Maya. I still collect honey to honor the bee culture and still collect ant food to connect with my roots and family.
The End
