The Fourcast

January and December, so peculiar—
How can opposites feel so similar?
The year begins and ends the same
The times are new, but winter's monotony remains
'Tis all a reminder that new beginnings cannot erase the past
We may move forward, but history will last

The tides turn with spring
Flowers bloom and birds sweetly sing
Nature evolves into a sight to behold
Rain and allergies somehow beat the cold
'Tis all a reminder that transformation comes not after sunshine
In a sense, progress comes after decline

Outdoor adventures and summer vacation
Peaches, cookouts, and graduation celebrations
Even the most wonderful of days find themselves scorched by drought and heat
Still, we crave summer on repeat
'Tis all a reminder that no perfect season exists
So why do we expect our lives to be perfect?

Changing leaves, breezy winds, and decadent pumpkin delights
Back to the rhythm of cozy tea-filled nights
Days become shorter while the nights grow long
Indie tracks suddenly become our favorite songs
'Tis all a reminder to rest amid routine
For even the light hides itself from being seen

Another year passes; the pattern continues again
The years feel different, but the sequence of the seasons never end
When you look outside, remember to look within
For indeed you can find beauty in every season
