Midnight.
OOOOOOOHH!
I woke up. WHAT WAS THAT??!!
It came from the basement. I slowly walked down the stairs and went in. OOOOH! Again. But weaker. It was coming from a cardboard box. I was too scared to open it. I didn't want to wake up my parents this early in the morning. So I went back to sleep.

The next day I went to school, and I met my friends. I told them everything. Claire said, "Let's meet in the basement at your house after school."  "And don't tell anybody what happened." Jane added.

After school, We went to the basement.  And again, it shouted -OOOOOOOH! "WHAT WAS THAT?!" They screamed. "I told you." I said.
We opened the box together. And we could not believe what was in there. It was a kitten! "Aww!" We said. She was so cute! She had white fur and looked really hungry and thirsty. So we gave her water and some tuna from the pantry.

Now the hard part was convincing my parents to adopt her!
"I don't know honey," Mom said.
"Please?" I said.
"Okay.." Mom said.
"But on one condition!" Dad said.
So I had to do lots of things like chores, math, homework and other stuff. While I was doing my chores, Claire took care of the kitten. And after a long time, my parents were ready to  adopt her.

The day we adopted her, my friends and I threw a party for her. We invited all of my classmates.  All of us played with her, danced, and even made a cake for her.  Zoey said that the kitten was very lucky to be found.

So I named her Lucky!
