Welcome
Alexi Lim
Welcome to Monta Vista!
Make yourself at home
You will feel all alone
Where you learn and thrive
Or should I say barely survive?
In the #15 high school from the state
Sounds just great
We're getting ahead of ourselves, wait!
Numbers, ranking, results, already
Jam packed in my skull
As my mind decomposes on itself
Like the fungi and worm that lay on my grave
A place where we go by force
Course selection, go and hold your remorse
To achieve, and don't hold back!
Calc BC, please don't slack
What's that, you got a test leak?
Please, you should let me take a peak!
End up in the office
With the same kid who managed the A
And never ever showed a sign he was weak!
Yet he cheated, his mind crumbled like mine as well
When the pressure sums up
The studying shall go to hell
But our parents always say
Don't ever take shortcuts, don't cheat, don't slow down
Yet our sanity, forgotten like a fine grain of sand
Slips out my small little hand
and disperses, fits in with all the others
In the vast, stretched out, wasteland
My social life is sacrificed
A small price to pay
For the letter that shows on our transcripts in late May
And your parents' pride at the end of the day
Ah, it must be you!
You lazy child, as carefree as a sloth
Your mind, your body, you need sleep
All fails when your alarm rings beep
A lost prayer that you could pull through the night
And realization sets in that you lost the fight
Because that's all we care about, right?
Welcome to Monta Vista!
