Freedom.
When young, you take it for granted.
As a child, filled with wonder.
An unburdened feeling.
Able to do anything.
Without a care in the world.

As the clock ticks by, that changes.
You're expected to live up to expectations.
You care too much.
Look to others to define yourself.
To determine your self worth.
To accept you.

You walk around with a mask on,
Never being authentically you,
Never taking that mask off.
You mold yourself,
To what others want you to be.

When posters and people say "Be you",
It's too late.
"You" are already who people want you to be.
"You" is accepted.
"You" is adequate.
"You" is not you.

And "You" is wondering where
that fearless child filled with wonder is.
Because both are living in the same body,
The same looks,
The same face.
But not the same person.
